Cross Currents is the first visiting exhibition by Gallery Gloria. The
exhibition was created in collaboration with the ETMU DAYS 2011.

The gallery steps out of it´s own space in the Multicultural Center Gloria
and inserts art to space for passerby to experience. The space by
architecture Alvar Aalto at the Jyväskylä University main building is
very complex and there are merely no straight walls. Art on the other
hand does not always have to hang on walls. The exhibition handels
cross currents in mind and language - the art work is about violence
and it´s concequences, colonialism now, human contact and of course
joy. The exhibition´s curator is Fine artist and gallerist Kaisa Lipponen.

100 Thousand Poets for Change Organizes Largest Poetry Event in History
600 events in 450 cities and 95 countries will take place on September 24 to promote environmental, social, and political change. Poets, writers, artists will create, perform and demonstrate in their communities, and decide their own specific area of focus for change within the framework of peace and sustainability, which founder Michael Rothenberg stated, “…is a major concern worldwide and the guiding principle for this global event.”

At the Jyväskylä Writers house Mexican poet Mercedes Alba and the Central Finland Writers take part in this worldwide event.

WEGO has chosen Mind Less Research International to carry out their research in Europe.
The world wide research begins in Évora, Portugal in September 2011 during the famous Escrita na Paisagem art festival.
The World Equivalence and Growth (WEGO) is aiming to release a global scale of value to measure equivalence concerning human organisms. The definition is based on theWEGO standard (Global economic standard). WEGO wants to help the global community of economic growth to avoid any moral contradictions during all transaction.

House Games – Jyväskylä Finland 6.-13.3.2011
In the Supperbreakfast artists Kaisa Lipponen(Fin), György Gáti(Hun) and Rina Liddle(Can) have dinner and breakfast together via internet and laptop. On Wed 9th of March 2011 Supperbreakfast is part of the House Games -art exhibition in Jyväskylä Finland. Artists are situated in there own homes while sharing the meal. Rina Liddle is having breakfast in Vancouver, György Gáti and Kaisa Lipponen are having supper in Budapest and Jyväskylä. You can join the meal in the House Games kitchen during 5:30pm - 6:45pm.
"Relations over the seas cause need to be in contact somehow – now we
are mostly in connection through technology. In the World Wide Web,
among the collections of individuals, new friendships sprout to
become a part of our everyday life. Closeness with people we have never met.
A vegetarian in Finland chooses ingredients for the meal from
a variety of food cultures. Food travels, people travel, messages travel.
One organism happened to come up with fire, cooked food at that fire, created a community around that food, got together because of that community. At Housegames 2011 we gather around to eat together without meeting at all. We do still have the fire – the light of the computer."
What is House Games?
House Games Triennial. House Games is a non-profit artist-run triennial. This event takes place in a standard Finnish apartment which maintains its function as a home, while serving as an alternative exhibition outlet. The exhibition is composed of recent artwork from a broad range of artistic practices and cultures. The site-specific installations, videos, paintings, drawings and sculptures shown in House Games range from free associations to literal takes on the theme of “house” and/or “home”.

Art Termination with Mind Less Company
Mind Less Company has been hired to take down public art in Jyväskylä University Area. TKTS is a foundation aiming to a helathier, less artistic and more financially oriented society. On 26th of November 2010 MLC will start removing a massive metal sculpture from the entrance of the campus area.
